Dog Massage & Reiki

Dog Massage and Reiki

Dog massage is “the touch of the physical and energetic body with the intention and purpose of healing.” Massage can improve your dogs’ physical/emotional balance holistically. By working on their muscles and skin, it increases the circulation of blood and lymph to help them heal and ease physical fatigues quickly. It also works to rebalance the energy flow that affects their emotional/mental state. Positive interaction with a trained pet massage practitioner can enhance your dog’s physical and mental well-being.

Reiki along with massage when needed. Reiki is another energy-based technique that promotes stress reduction and relaxation, as well as physical healing, by regaining the balance of natural positive energy. Reiki can be done with or without touching the dog, with no harmful effects. This allows the dog to benefit from her session even if your dog is afraid of being touched by a person.

Each session can be tailored for your dog with only massage, only Reiki, or a combination of both as you and your dog prefer and/or need. A session would be from a few minutes to about 30 minutes, depending on your dog’s acceptance and need.

Disclaimer

Massage and Reiki are not, nor are they intended to be a substitute for traditional veterinary care. They are complementary forms of health care, and massage/Reiki practitioners are not allowed to do any medical diagnoses and/or treatments.  The client should regularly consult a veterinarian in matters relating to his or her dog’s health and especially in regard to any symptoms, which may require diagnosis or medical attention. If you have any concerns regarding the efficacy of any of the massage/Reiki practices specifically for your dog, please consult with your veterinarian or qualified animal health care practitioner before or after taking a session, if necessary.

For first-time clients

Please don’t get upset if your dog doesn’t look completely relaxed for the first time. It does not necessarily mean that your dog hates a massage/Reiki or doesn’t benefit from it. Most dogs need time to learn about a practitioner and a new experience in their own ways. Once they know the practitioner as well as the massage/Reiki, they will get to look more comfortable and settled. Give them time!

Cancellation/Refund Policy

All cancellations and reschedules should be made 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. Any cancellations and reschedules requested within 24 hours prior to the appointment time are subject to a half of the service fee. Any missed appointments (no show) are subject to the full service fee. In the event of an emergency, this fee may be waived.

No refund will be issued after a session starts for any reasons, except for the cases that the massage/reiki practitioner determines that the dog completely refuses a session even distance reiki. In these cases, partial refunds will be issued (the service fee minus $10).

In case of cancellations due to the practitioner’s circumstances or extreme weather, every effort will be made to reschedule a session to as earliest time as possible, and if you prepaid the credit will be applied to the next session.
